Laugh - Leap - Rock - Reach - Point - Shake - Sweat

Our school philosophy is based on the basic principle of respect to all dancers, our friends, parents as well as teachers.

The Aviemore School of Highland Dance endeavours to provide a comprehensive dance program for all dancers regardless of age or ability and through innovative teaching and positive motivation, help dancers achieve their goals. However, it is also important that all dancers understand that discipline in class is an important element of their training. Parents are welcomed to attend and sit in at any class and those wishing to view classes should enter the class at the beginning and not be going in and out during class time. Any siblings watching must sit quietly and not disturb the lesson in progress.

We ask the parents to ensure their dancers arrive on time for class and that the dancer is prepared for their lesson. This includes proper attire and hair (listed below):
  • All dancers should be dressed in body suits or stretch shorts and stretch t-shirts
  • Hair shall be in a ponytail and all bangs barretted off the face
  • Please do not use hair bands as they do not stay in
  • Knee socks are mandatory for all Premier dancers and strongly recommended for all other dancers
  • Highland shoes or soft black ballet shoes
Dancers are recommended to bring water to class and that at no time do we bring in food or soft drinks into the dance studios.
